Adventure Challenge is Not Just for Students. It's for Teachers, too.

A great many teachers and school administrators are familiar with the benefits adventure-based team building and leadership development programs can provide to their student populations. Fewer know that the same programs can yield equally valuable results for the school staff who regularly bring their students to our courses.

Training Programs and In-Service Workshops

Over the years we have designed programs to meet a variety of staff development needs for school personnel. These offerings can be presented in the context of a staff retreat, on-site as part of an in-service day, in open-enrollment classes at our own facilities, or to self-organized groups at a site of their own choosing.

Here is a sampling of what we have to offer.

Teambuilding for Teachers and Staff.
A half-day or full-day program of group initiatives for adults instead of kids.

Special Content Workshops.
Half-day classroom sessions focusing on such issues as diversity, change, and conflict resolution.

Adventure Challenge Awareness Session.
A full-day hands-on introduction to adventure challenge programming with students.

Falitator Training.
Introduction to basic and advanced facilitating skills for low- and high-element ropes challenge course programs.

Curricular Development.
Introduction and consultation for teachers who wish to include adventure challenge in the school curriculum.

Attn: Team building and Ropes Challenge Course ProgramsSchools, youth groups, athletic teams, and community agencies come to the Joe Dumars' Team and Leadership Center for three reasons: 1) to learn about the strategies and philosophy that make Joe Dumars an extraordinary team player and visionary leader; 2) to learn and practice valuable teamwork skills; and 3) to celebrate team successes. Based on the belief that all teams need to practice, the Team and Leadership Center offers a series of programs and services designed to help emerging and establish teams and leaders grow. Our innovative workshops and team building programs in Michigan are designed to be "practice sessions" for workgroups and teams. Utilizing hands-on adventure-based activities, high ropes courses, and climbing walls, our programs reach beyond the classroom and provide practical experience and insights that will have a lasting impact on the way your leaders and team members perform. Based out of the incredible Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse facilties, this is the premiere place to learn and practice team skills, celebrate successes, and have fun! Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse has been the premiere location for pick-up basketball, athletic development programs, and competitive league play—basketball, roller hockey, field hockey, sand/indoor volleyball—since 1995. Youth academies, camps, court rentals, Bayou Adventure, custom events, incredible facility, innovative programs, and a dedicated staff keep individuals, families, community agencies, and corporations coming back time and again.
