About the Joe Dumars' Team and Leadership Center
The Joe Dumars' Team and Leadership Center was created
to help corporations, community groups, and youth reach their full potential.
Based on the team and leadership beliefs of Detroit Pistons' Great,
Joe Dumars, programs are designed to provide participants opportunities
to explore teamwork and leadership first hand. Based on the belief that
all teams, whether executive management teams or youth groups, need
to practice to reach their potential, the Team and Leadership Center
uses interactive adventure experiences that test individuals' abilities
to perform beyond their perceived limitations, work in concert with
others, and communicate effectively, and support and encourage their
peers. Teambuilding programs can be designed for purely recreational
and celebratory experiences or curriculum can be created to integrate
with complex organizational development interventions.
The Joe Dumars' Team and Leadership Center
is a partnership between the Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse and S.T.E.P.S.,
Inc.
For more than ten years, the Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse
has stood as the premiere community recreation center in the Detroit
Area. A pioneer in the field of entertainment, recreation, and fitness,
the Fieldhouse in recognized as a leader in the field of competitive
team sports and entertainment. With three locations--Shelby Township,
Sterling Heights, and Detroit--the Fieldhouse offers youth and adult
leagues for basketball, roller hockeys, floor hockey, volleyball, and
more. In addition, the Fieldhouse Shelby is home to Sticx's Bar and
Grill, Halan's Hockeyshop, and the Bayou Fun Center. Whether coming
out to enjoy one of our leagues, with the family to play a round of
miniature golf, or as part of a celebratory event, the Fieldhouse is
known for customer service and fun.
S.T.E.P.S. has been a leader in the field of adventure
education and challenge courses in Detroit and Southeastern Michigan
since 1991. Long-time former challenge course manager for Tamarack Camps
and the Tamarack Outdoor Education Center in Ortonville, Michigan, S.T.E.P.S.
has been instrumental in developing and supporting many of the challenge
course programs in the region. including the former WRESA program in
Livonia, the Butzel Conference Center, Echo Grove, Walled Lake Outdoor
Education Center, and numerous local school programs.
Having served more than 200,000 participants since their founding, S.T.E.P.S.,
Inc. carries a staff of professionals in education, mental health,
organizational development, and challenge course construction and
consultation. In addition to designing custom team and
leadership programs, the company also design and builds ropes courses
throughout the world.
